While most of us prefer to seek solutions ourselves rather than reach out to our company’s customer service team, there are times when we need extra help

So you need to make sure that your email marketing platform offers the level of support you need.

What SendGrid Offers

SendGrid’s free plan gives you access to email support only.

I can’t speak to anyone on the phone.

This is useful if you have more pressing issues

However, all paid pricing plans offer access to live chat and phone support.

SendGrid makes it easy to contact our support team by placing a button on the main dashboard that takes you directly to our contact page.

It doesn’t hide this information as Mailchimp does.

What Mailchimp Offers

One area I’m not particularly impressed with is Mailchimp support.

It’s very difficult to get help at all when using the free plan.

Many problems can be solved with a good article with screenshots and videos, but it may take longer if you find a bug in your system or if you’re just starting out and don’t know what to do.

Mailchimp’s Help button takes you to its knowledge base where you can search for relevant articles.

Contact information is at the end of the article. If you are using the free tier, you can only submit one ticket.

SendGrid’s free email marketing plan lets you store up to 2,000 contacts and send up to 6,000 emails per month.

Free plan features are limited.

It only allows you to create sign-up forms, does not offer live chat or phone support, and does not include autoresponders.

SendGrid offers complete flexibility with its Basic and Advanced paid plans, as pricing varies by both the number of emails sent and the contacts stored. Basic plan pricing starts at $15/month for 5,000 contacts/month and 15,000 emails/month.

After that, the price increases to $25 per month for 10,000 and 30,000 emails per month.

Mailchimp’s free plan is a great option. It includes most of the main features such as CRM-style contact management, automated segment creation, autoresponders, and basic email templates.

However, it lacks targeted email templates (such as welcome emails), A/B testing, and phone support. Also, you can only send up to 10,000 emails per month and manage only email lists with up to 2,000 contacts.

Mailchimp prices increase based on the number of contacts you store.

Our cheapest pricing plan, the Essentials plan, starts at $9.99 for 500 contacts but goes up to:

SendGrid is really good at certain things.

Its email delivery capabilities are excellent, with a robust set of analytics and flexible pricing options.

However, when it comes to comprehensive email marketing features, it’s not that great.

Mailchimp puts a lot of effort into everything they do, but support options can still improve, so in the end, it’s not all that competitive.
